Anzac 2011

ANZAC Essay Competition

On April 14 some of our Year 8 students competed in the ANZAC Essay Competition sponsored annually by the Raglan Club.  The winner of the competition is awarded $1000 - this is paid to their Year 9 school to cover expenses.

Some Year 7 students came too, to have a practice run for next year’s contest. The topic of the essay was “The Destruction of European Cities in WW2”.

Raglan Area School students compete against students from Te Uku School, Te Mata School and Waitetuna School. They all have to sit in silence for 90 minutes and write their best essay.

One of our students, Anjali Patel, won last year and we hope to win this year too!
