Restorative Practices

Restorative Practice

Restorative Practice (RP) is about putting the relationship at the heart of discipline ... Raglan Area School has adopted RP as an approach to working through discipline issues with our young people.

Through this approach we try to repair the harm caused, restore the relationship between all parties and work to create better outcomes for all involved.

Sometimes this means that students have to be punished (students and whanau have a say in this process). Wherever possible we are looking for a solution that is positive and sustainable.

Our staff has been involved in professional development this year and will have further training later in the year. There will be an opportunity for parents to be involved in RP thoughout the year.
