Whānau Information Evening 8th February 2024 6-8pm
We invite all whānau to an open evening on 8th February at 6pm.  This is an opportunity to come in and see the school, meet the leaders and teachers and find out a bit more about us.

We will also be consulting parents on our health curriculum. This will be held in the school hall and we would love to see you there!

Stationery & Devices
Stationery for Years 0-6 is provided at school and kindly sponsored by Satnam and Harshi Bains, owners of our local Four Square.

Our stationery lists for years 7-13 are available online.  Parents of Year 7-13 students can view the lists or access online ordering from Office Max at https://www.raglanarea.school.nz/our-school/stationery/.

Please note we are encouraging all students in Years 7-13 to bring their own devices to school this year.  For Years 7-10 we recommend a chromebook and for Years 11-13 we recommend a windows laptop.  Please click here to see some recommended options.

School Communication – How to access Edge
Edge is the app which our school uses to connect with parents.  Using this app you can view your child’s attendance, school reports and track their NCEA progress. We also use this app to communicate news with you.  Please click below to see how to access Edge.  Please note you will need to do this with the email address you have provided to school.

https://www.raglanarea.school.nz/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/How-to-access-edge-app.pdf

We will also communicate with parents and caregivers via email, our school website and our facebook page, so keep an eye on these channels.  Our website homepage has a school calendar to keep you up to date with upcoming events.

Absences
Please advise us if your child is not able to be at school for any reason, it is a Ministry of Education requirement that we record all absences with the reason for the absence.  To let us know dates and reason for absence you can:

  • Call the office on 07 825 8140
  • Text us on 027 488 9421
  • Email attendance@raglanarea.school.nz

If your child arrives at school after 8:50am they will need to sign in at the office otherwise it may be recorded as an absence.  If your child is not at school we may send a text message to let you know.

Sun Smart
Students in Year 0-6 are expected to wear sunhats as per our school’s Sun Smart Policy.  We encourage you to ensure all ages of students wear hats and sunblock, particularly during the summer terms.

Student Property
We accumulate quite a lot of lost property throughout the year. It would be so helpful for us for all student property (i.e. lunch boxes, drink bottles) clothing (don’t forget shoes and jandals) to be clearly marked with their name and a contact number on any device that a student brings to school.

Bank Account
Our bank account details are:
ASB
Raglan Area School Board of Trustees
12-3122-0338919-00

Please ensure any regular payments you make are paid to this account as we did change our bank account last year.  Our preferred payment method is via internet banking if possible please. It is very important, when making an on-line payment, that you reference your payment clearly so that it is coded against the activity it is intended to pay for.

Sports Sign-ups
Registrations are open online until 23 February, head over to our sports website to sign up for any sports https://sites.google.com/raglanarea.school.nz/ras-sport-external/home.
