Meet Our Staff
I am committed to our school and to the education of our students. My primary role is to advocate for our youth in this community ensuring that they are at the heart of the matter. We must be inclusive, valuing all individuals. My imperative is to support them to become confident in themselves, well educated, and secure in their relationships and community, so that they may be remarkable as individuals.
Deputy Principal and Acting Assistant Principal Yrs 4-7
I am a passionate leader who loves to empower students and teachers to be the best they can be.
I believe building a safe school climate and positive school culture is paramount to having a successful school.
Ko Hikurangi te Maunga, Ko Taumarere te Awa, Ko Ngapuhi te Iwi. I believe that all children deserve the right to excel within education. It is our role and responsibility as kaiako / educators to provide quality learning experiences that engage and inspire our young people. Nau te rourou, naaku te rourou ka ora ai nga tamariki.

Kia Ora, I’m Celia Risbridger, born, brought up, educated and living in Raglan! I started my teaching career at Raglan Area School in 1994, and have taught all primary levels since then, including seven years as New Entrant teacher from 2004-2011.
During 2013, 2014 and 2015 I worked at school with students who were struggling in mathematics and undertook post-graduate study to support this. I was ‘on leave’ from school in 2016, working part-time as a mathematics facilitator for the University of Waikato, mentoring and sharing my learning with teachers doing similar work in other schools.
I’m looking forward to being the New Entrant teacher at Raglan Area School in 2017, and getting to know you and your tamariki as they begin their journey of school learning. I’m also leader of the Year 0-2 team.
When not at school, you’re most likely to find me in my garden or walking the beaches and bush tracks of Raglan!
Assistant Principal - Yrs 7-10
Ko Kawhia te moana. Ko Tainui te waka. As an Assistant Principal, I believe that it is very important that all students have their learning needs met and to do this we should be able to do things differently. I believe that school should be safe, positive, focussed on learning and achievement, where students are paramount. For me learning is a partnership with whanau and I encourage whanau to be part of the learning process.
Assistant Principal (Yrs 11-13)
Together, with an enthusiastic team of teachers, I emphasise the importance of students’ achieving personal standards of excellence, in academic, sporting and cultural activities, by providing opportunities to experience success both in and beyond the classroom.
