Kia ora e te whānau
This Thursday the 4th of August is our school-wide tree planting day. I wanted to share the schedule for the day with you.
Just a couple of points to note:
- Food and water for students and staff will be provided on the day by Meridian Energy.
- Please can your children bring their drink bottles to reduce waste.
- Gloves will be provided.
- Appropriate covered footwear is also required for health and safety, although the holes will be pre-dug.
We have divided Kura Tuakana (years 7-13) and Kura Teina (Years 0-6) into two separate groups for the day, here are the schedules for the day
KURA TUAKANA
| 8:50 | Attendance will be taken in class then students will go straight to the hall. |
| 9:00 | Assembly presentation about the planting day with motivational speakers. |
| 9:30 | Kura Tuakana students go back to periods 1, 2, and 3 for normal classes. |
| 12:25 | Teachers and Kura Tuakana students go to the school nursery period 4 (just down from the bottom of Norrie Ave and on the left for lunch – provided), karakia, and planting demonstration. |

KURA TEINA (Year 0 – 6)
| 8:50 | Students arrive at school |
| 9:30 | Students go to the hall for an assembly presentation about the planting day with motivational speakers |
| 10:00 | Years 1-6 walk to nursery (just down from the bottom of Norrie Ave and on the left- there will be tents set up there). |
| 10:05 | Karakia |
| 10:10 | Planting demonstration (Liz Stanway) |
| 10:15 | Planting session 1 commences (Years 1-6) |
| 11:00 | Break for a piece of fruit (provided) |
| 11:10 | Planting session 2 commences (Years 0-6) |
| 12:00 | Lunch (provided) |
| 12:25 | Return to regular scheduled classes for the day |
