Raglan Area School is very excited to inform you that 2015 will be the year that Raglan will field two Rugby Teams in the Waikato Secondary Schools Competition. We will be entering an Under 16 team and an Under 65 kilo team.
The Under 16 team will be coached by Greg Clarke and Hono Anderson. We are very thankful for their massive commitment to our boys and our community! This team had a very successful year in 2014 and we are looking to be placed in the top four in 2015. Huria Falwasser and Joe Rao will continue to manage this team.
The new Under 65 kilo team will be coached by Jason Tatana and Aaron Laboyrie, with technical assistance from Lawrence Brydon. We are very grateful to our coaching staff for offering their assistance in 2015. We are very excited about the Under 65 kilo team and believe they will be a very successful team. Joe Rao will manage this team and would greatly appreciate any co-managers!!
We started our pre-season coaching and development from the 25th February with a muster and registration in the Raglan Area School Hall followed by a barbecue and swim in the school pool. This was an opportunity for boys to be weighed and for coaches to discuss training days and times.
We will enter the Waikato 7s tournament as we did in 2014 and I will invite Fraser College and Melville to Raglan for some pre-season warm up games.
