Kia ora koutou

This message is for the parents and caregivers of students in Kura Tuakana (Years 7 – 13) only.

Further to the message from the Principal on Friday, 24 March 2023 and the information sent this morning, we have today received formal notice of the confirmation of the strike by the New Zealand Post Primary Teachers’ Association / Te Wehengarua (PPTA).

The PPTA has now confirmed they will carry out strike action this Wednesday, 29 March 2023 and it is now necessary for you to keep your year 7 – 13 students home from school on this day as the school will be closed for all years 7 – 13 students on Wednesday, 29 March 2023.

The years 7 – 13 teachers are PPTA teachers and there will not be any teaching staff available on this day to teach any years 7 – 13 students. You should know that the teachers of years 7 and 8 of our surrounding schools (Waitetuna, Te Uku and Te Mata) are not PPTA union members and will not be affected in the same way we are at Raglan Area School.

If you have any urgent questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
