Kia ora Koutou e te whanau

The Prime Minister announced yesterday afternoon (Friday 27 August) that all of New Zealand will continue to stay in Alert Level 4 until 11:59 pm on Tuesday 31 August. At that time, and subject to whatever information may emerge over the weekend, all New Zealand regions south of Auckland’s regional boundary including Raglan will shift into Alert Level 3.

Staff Preparations for Alert Level 3

The Ministry of Education has informed us that we are waiting for details of the public health measures to be confirmed before we can finalise the guidance that will operate at Alert Level 3. The Ministry appreciates that we will require some time on-site to prepare for welcoming some students back to school. On this basis, we are able to allow limited staff on site for cleaning and preparation of our school on Monday 29  and Tuesday 30 August as long as all public health measures at Alert Level 4 are followed. While staff will be working on Monday 29 Tuesday 30 and Wednesday 1 September to make final preparations for a change to Level 3, our Home Learning Whaingaroa Wednesday Wellbeing protocols will be maintained on Wednesday 1 September.

School Re-opens Thursday 2 September 2021 – please note the criteria

We have all heard a clear message from the Prime Minister that at Alert Level 3,  schools will effectively continue to be closed for face-to-face learning, other than for the children of parents who need to go to work and have no alternative care options available. Please help us to prepare for the students who will be returning to school next Thursday 2 September by completing this online survey (LINK). This survey will remain open until next Monday 30 August 2021 and will help to inform our planning. Please pass this message on to anyone in our community who has children at Raglan Area School.
