Dear Whanau, Parents and Caregivers,

Welcome back to Term 2

Welcome back and especially to those families who have joined us this week, we hope that you will make new friendships in our school and local community.

Everyone has come back after a refreshing Easter Holiday break and we are looking forward to the new term. All classes have begun to focus on their new topic and student learning goals.

This letter includes information, dates of events and some reminders to help get the Term off with a great start.

Clothing

It is now Autumn and the weather can be very changeable. Please ensure your child brings suitable clothing including a waterproof coat or jacket for outside play. It is helpful if your student’s clothing is named as last term there was lots of unclaimed clothing and several lost articles that could not be found.

Cross Country

This term the students will be preparing for the Year 0-7 Cross Country Event, which is planned for week 4. Classes will be exercising and running around the course on the school field. At times the field may be muddy and wet and there can be prickles in the grass so please provide suitable footwear for running (no jandals) and clothing (shorts, jogging pants, t- shirt etc)

Anzac Commemorations

This week the students have been finding out about Anzac Day, and why it is significant to New Zealand. Several classes have visited or are planning to go to the exhibition at Raglan Museum. On Saturday Raglan Area School will be presenting a wreath at the commemoration service at 11.00 am in the high street. Please come down and join in the occasion.
